For many gamers, the biggest challenge during a long session is not the difficulty of the game but finding a comfortable position. Holding a controller or handheld console for hours can leave arms and wrists without proper support.

Gaming accessories company nerdytec is addressing that problem with the Couchmaster® CYPAD, a padded cushion designed for people who play from their sofas.

Unlike earlier Couchmaster products, which were built around laptops, keyboards, and mice, the CYPAD targets controller, smartphone, and handheld console users. It wraps around the player and fastens at the back, providing support for the arms, elbows, and wrists.

The cushion also features two large side pockets for controllers, phones, power banks, and accessories. An adjustable clip helps accommodate different body sizes.

Designed for longer gaming sessions

The CYPAD measures 25.2 by 25.2 inches and comes with a washable cover in black, camouflage, and brown. An optional 13-foot USB-C cable supports both charging and data transfer, allowing players to keep their controllers connected without unnecessary cable clutter.

The product can also be paired with nerdytec’s CYCON Couchmaster line for additional connectivity and charging options.

The launch expands nerdytec’s focus on gaming ergonomics beyond PC players. Its CYCON³ previously received an 88 out of 100 score from PC Gamer, while Windows Central rated the CYCON² at 4.5 out of 5.

“Controller and handheld players have the same problem in a different place: their arms and shoulders,” said Chris Mut, co-founder and CEO of nerdytec. “The CYPAD solves this problem.”

The company has made the Couchmaster CYPAD available in the United States, with prices starting at $59.90 for the version without a cable and $69.90 with the USB-C cable. European availability is expected in the coming weeks, ahead of the holiday season.

With Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, the product arrives ahead of one of the year’s most anticipated console releases, when many players may be preparing for longer sessions.
